Dark Woodfired Teapot
Each element of this teapot was thrown on the wheel, and handcrafted to make it a one-of-a-kind piece. The tall lid makes this teapot easy to pour, as the way ones’ hand fits around the handle keeps the lid on as you tip the vessel over to cleanly pour out the tea. Measures 7.5 in tall from base to handle x 7 in wide from spout to back, and holds 30 fl oz.
The dark clay body has freckles of iron showing through the natural woodash glaze on the outside of the teapot, while the inside is glazed in an orangey-red shino. Perfect for brewing up to —-cups of your favorite tea, not suitable for stovetop boiling. Handwash only.
Wood fired pieces are non-repeatable because it is impossible to predict how ash glaze will land on a piece inside of a kiln. This vase was fired for nearly 4 days, and let stand to naturally cool for 10 days, inside of a large anagama-style wood kiln in late April 2025 by Eva and many others.
