Welcome! My name is Eva Stoneburner, and I am a ceramics artist residing in Tucson, AZ.
How it all started
I began making pottery in 2015, and have been hooked on pots ever since then! I attended Foothill community college in California from 2016-2019, where I pursued and grew my ceramics knowledge under the instruction of Professor Andy Ruble. After graduating from UCLA with a BA in Anthropology in 2021, I began making and teaching ceramics classes at the Tucson Clay Co-op full time.
Over the years, clay has taught me how to be more understanding of myself and others, to slow down and take life one step at a time, and how to let go and be okay with not being perfect. Clay has so much to offer, and since it comes from the earth, it can be recycled and reused in order to reduce waste in the craft.
Wasn’t your shop called Spiral Sundries?
Yes, it was! When I first began selling my pottery in 2020, I called my Etsy shop Spiral Sundries. Since my art has grown with me over time, and Spiral Sundries no longer spoke to me as a shop title, I decided to change my shop to my own surname- Stoneburner, as if it were my calling to fire earth all along.
As an homage to my pottery roots, my Stoneburner logo incorporates a spiral (now with flames!). Below are some images of my previous work!
Classes!
Not only do I sell my work, but I also teach classes at the Tucson Clay Co-op. If you live in or plan to visit Tucson, you can take a class from me. Check out the clay co-op website for more details on private and group classes taught by myself and others.
