Death of a Unicorn Woodfired Mug

$35.00

Have a hot cup of your favorite beverage from this twisted, natural toned, woodfired mug. Glazed in a variety of browns, gentle mustards, greys and the subtle purples of the clay body, this small mug reminiscent of a unicorn horn. In the bottom of the cup, you’ll even see the blood-spot-like remnants of where the “horn” was removed from the unicorn’s skull, the red being achieved from a lack of oxygen in the kiln (reduction).

Measures 3.5 in tall by 3.35 in wide at rim, and holds of fl oz.

Wood fired pieces are non-repeatable because it is impossible to predict how ash glaze will land on a piece inside of a kiln. This vase was fired for nearly 4 days and naturally cooled for an additional 10 days inside of a large anagama-style wood kiln in late April 2025 by myself and many others.
